1. MASHOUT was a great success, with lots of great food, beer, and people. Trevor took second in the meatloaf contest, and John Jester and John Keough tied for third. Justin brewed a kveik onsite and the entire 4 gallons got consumed.

3. Checkerspot’s Homebrew Extravaganza will be held on Wednesday October 14, 6-9 PM. Brewers can start setting up at 5:00. Attendees get all they can drink for $10, and all proceeds go to BARCS.
4. Midnight Homebrewers will be running the homebrew contest at the Maryland Microbrewery Fest at Union Mills on Saturday September 26. They are looking for judges and beer entries (American styles only). The competition page is at http://www.marylandmicrobreweryfestival.com/default.asp?iId=FMKMFH . 5. The Anne Arundel County Fair will have a homebrew contest in September, and they are desperate for entries. Information at https://aacountyfair.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/06/Home-Brew.pdf

7. Several of us plan to fill the quad barrel with gueuze. So far the participants are Jason, Frits, Justin, and Ben. Speak up if you want to contribute. You don’t even have to brew anything sour; just a low- or no-hopped pale ale will do, as it will be soured in the barrel. Or, if you have an old pale ale / saison / lager that you want to get rid of, we'll gladly add that.

9. There will be a homebrew competition on August 29. It is for clubs only, and the recipe must be one of the three recipes that AHA supplied for National Homebrew Day. If we want to enter, we must:
- Go to ReggieBeer.com and select “Login” at the top left
- Select the “Create New Reggie Account” button at the bottom of the page
- For last name, enter our club name
- Enter password, email address, etc
- Enter club name at the bottom
- Click “Add Account”
Then we must:
- Login at https://reggiebeer.com/ReggieEntry.php?CompetitionID=QCVIFS1000980
- Under “Last Name:” enter “CRABS,” (the comma is necessary)
- A dropdown of registered clubs should be listed
- Select our club if listed
